°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Choir sing Evensong in memory of Sir David Lumsden, former Organist of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Chapel was full on Saturday for a special Evensong to celebrate the memory of Sir David Lumsden, Organist of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«, 1959-1976, who went on to a distinguished role as principal of the Royal Academy of Music.

His family and many members of the choir association gathered to honour his enormous contribution to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ« Choir, in particularly a new focus on recording.

Robert Quinney chose music to reflect his time in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«, including Byrd’s Great Service, recorded by Sir David in 1976, and Faire is the heaven by William Harris, Organist of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«, 1919-1929.
